The VELscope is an FDA approved  revolutionary hand-held device that provides the dentist and hygienist with a new tool to aide in the early detection of oral cancer.  The dentist shines a blue light into the patient’s mouth to cause it to fluoresce.  This fluorescence helps the dentist visualize abnormal tissue which may be, or may lead to, oral cancer. This is a pain-free, noninvasive procedure.
